Woodwing (de mensen achter Time Magazine’s creatie en reader software) gaan Adobe’s viewer technologie (tot nu toe die stoemme verknipte beeldjestechnologie) ondersteunen.

“The support of Adobe’s viewer technology in Enterprise will enable our customers to profit from our secure database-driven workflow solution, and to output to all devices Adobe will support,” Schut added. “In addition to that, we will continue to enhance the WoodWing Reader App so that publishers in need of a efficient solution today, or that wish to work with CS4, can move forward while safeguarding their investment. We will also extend our offering to include services that allow publishers to deeply customize the Reader App we’re providing. Belangrijk in deze mededeling is dat Woodwing ook hun eigen creatie/reader combinatie gaat blijven ontwikkelen. Tot op heden is dit een logische stap, gezien ze nog een beduidende voorsprong hebben op wat Adobe nu in de running heeft zitten. De vraag is natuurlijk hoelang Adobe nodig heeft om zelf zo’n set aan tools + reader te creëren. Een toolset die aanspreekbaar is vanuit Creative Suite met hetzelfde gebruiksgemak van Woodwings toolset.

Gezien de groeiende  populariteit van dit medium zou het misschien zelfs opportuun zijn om de technologie over te nemen van Woodwing?! Just sayin’.
